Our Process

A Values-Based Approach to Financial Planning

At Provision Wealth Management, Inc., acting in your best interest is our number one priority.  All of our clients have a unique set of goals, values and passions.  At the beginning of our process it is our desire to learn all about your faith, family, work, community and/or what you value most in life.  With our values-based approach to financial planning, your core values become the basis for our philosophy and your financial plan.

We follow the Certified Financial Planner Board, Inc. Code of Ethics, Standards of Conduct and financial planning process.

1. Establish and Define the Client-Planner Relationship

Before developing a plan, we’ll both define our relationship.  During this step, we’ll discuss the following areas with you: services we provide, our responsibility to you, your responsibility to us and planning engagement details.  If we’re both in agreement, we’ll move forward with the process.

2. Gathering Information Necessary to Fulfill the Engagement

Your goals and dreams are important to us.  During this step, we gather the necessary information to do analysis and create a plan that will provide clarity and confidence to help you reach your goals and dreams.  At Provision Wealth Management, Inc. we are devoted to developing clear and measurable objectives, while prioritizing your needs.

3. Analyzing and Evaluating Your Current Financial Status

Our team will evaluate your current financial situation in light of your values and goals.  This will be the basis for creating your plan and making recommendations to ensure your financial situation aligns with your values and financial goals.

4. Developing the Recommendations

Our team will define clear and measurable recommendations to ensure you achieve your financial goals in light of your goals, our analysis and your financial plan.  When possible, we’ll define the impact of implementing our recommendations.

5. Communicating the Recommendations

We will clearly communicate our recommendations to help you meet your financial goals and provide any deliverables from the engagement.  In this step, we will also make any necessary adjustments and enhancements to your plan.

6. Implementing the Recommendations

Your financial plan is only as good as your ability and willingness to implement our recommendations and continue to stick to that plan.  You can choose to implement on your own or with the help of our team. &

7. Monitoring the Recommendations

In this step, we’ll review your financial plan and the implementation of your plan in light of your changing financial situation.  We will make and make any necessary adjustments and new recommendations to ensure that you stay on track.

8. Practicing within Professional and Regulatory Standards

At Provision Wealth Management, Inc., we hold ourselves to the highest professional, legal and moral standards.  We are fiduciaries and will always act in our client’s best interest.

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

Our Services

Personalized Attention, Customized Advice

At Provision Wealth Management, Inc., we take the time to understand who you are, what you value, your passions and what you want to accomplish.  Based on each client’s specific needs, our team can develop a financial plan through holistic, values-based planning or modular planning in the following areas:

Risk Management and Insurance Planning

Does my choice of health insurance plan accurately reflect my needs?  Should I fund an FSA or HSA?  Do I have enough life insurance and what type is best for me?  Do I have enough income protection in the event I am unable to work for an extended period of time?  Can I afford to self-insure for potential long term care expenses and if not, what are my options?  What affect does this increased expense have on my retirement income plan?  What other areas of risk should I explore mitigating?

Retirement Planning

What are my options for retirement savings and which option(s) are right for me?  Am I saving enough for retirement?  At what age can I retire?  What would life look like if I re-wired instead of being fully retired?  What is the total of my essential vs discretionary monthly expenses?  What are my sources of guaranteed income?  Which account(s) should I take distributions from each year?  Should I consider a Roth conversion?  How can I minimize the tax impact on my retirement income?  Which pension benefit option should I elect and when should I begin those payments?  When should I start my social security retirement benefits?  What is a spousal benefit?

Investment Planning

Are my investment accounts in line with my financial plan?  Does my portfolio match my risk tolerance, time horizon, and investment objective?  Is my portfolio adequately diversified?  What am I paying for investment management and advice?  How are my investments performing compared to benchmarks and other investment alternatives?

Tax Planning

Do I need to withhold more or less taxes from my paycheck?  Should I contribute more to my retirement plans?  Should I contribute to retirement plans on a pre-tax or post tax basis?  Should I fund a health savings account or flexible spending account?  How do I account for my non-cash charitable donations?  How should I structure my debt to ensure I receive the most tax benefit?  Is my CPA accurately accounting for my situation?

Estate Planning

Do my estate planning documents accurately reflect my intentions?  Are my beneficiary designations and account titles accurate reflections of my estate documents or desires?  How tax efficient is my current legacy planning?  What types of trust planning might be appropriate for me?  What can I afford to do while I’m alive versus after I’m gone?  If I’m incapacitated, how will things play out?  Are my digital assets protected and accessible after I’m gone?

Cash Flow and Debt Structure

Do I know where my money goes each month?  Am I saving first and spending what’s left?  Am I saving money in the right bucket(s)?  What are the interest rates and terms of my debt?  What debt should I pay off first?  Should I pay off my mortgage as soon as possible?

Other Services

Education

What are the options for education funding and where should I be saving for this goal?  What information is on a FAFSA application?  Which assets impact the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and would reduce potential financial aid?

Employee Benefits and Employer Stock

Which employer offered benefits are right for me and at what level?  Should I pay for these benefits on a pre-tax or post-tax basis?  What are the differences in the types of stock options I have been given?  When do my stock options vest?  When should I sell my shares, and what are the tax consequences?  What should I do with this cash?

Business Planning & Corporate Structuring

How should I structure my company: LLC, Sole Proprietor, Partnership, S-Corp, or C-Corp?  Should I offer any employee benefits?  How do I protect my business from the loss of a Key Employee?  How do I sell or transition my business?

THE STOCK MARKET IS A DEVICE TO TRANSFER MONEY FROM THE ‘IMPATIENT’ TO THE ‘PATIENT’.
